Monkey Parchment Coffee, unlike the Kopi Luwak is a Specialty Coffee variety that is endemic to South India. The Rhesus Macaque that is the forefront of my design is a species of small Monkeys that inhabit certain parts of South India. These monkeys feast on the coffee berries during winter and spit the seeds out. The enzymes in their saliva enhance the flavour and experience of these beans when they are brewed.
The design of the brand and it's elements are meant to juxtapose the natural, raw process of procuring the coffee against the artificial way of and drying, brewing and finally transforming it into a cup of what we call coffee.
The concept for packaging the freshly ground beans came from the need to stand out against other coffee brands at the point of sale.
The addition of a Scratch & Sniff pad to the packaging gives the customer a subtle experience of what the coffee has to offer. The aim of this is to portray the originality and quality of the coffee to the customer before they brew their first cup.
Cold Brews have taken the coffee industry by storm and they're here to stay!
These Cold Brews can be stored for weeks in the fridge and these bottles are designed to slow the fermenting process even further while also appealing to the classic aesthetic.
